Get ideas. Get a hand. Get a brew. Get together.

Let’s be honest, running a business can be tough going.

There are times when the whole thing feels like an uphill hike through quicksand in rollerskates. If you spend a lot of time working alone, that hill can feel steeper and steeper.

But with the right folks by your side to help pull you along and catch you when you fall, the journey becomes a whole lot easier (not to mention more fun).

It takes a village

Going it alone doesn’t have to be lonely

Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting out on your business adventure, going it alone can be lonely. Yes, your friends and family are great for cheering you on from the sidelines but, unless they’re self-employed themselves, they probably just don’t quite get it.

That’s why us business owners need to find and support each other. To build a community of friendly faces who really know what it’s like to go it alone. To be together in the same room. To cheer each other on, challenge each other’s preconceptions, and champion each other through thick and thin.

“This is a place I can come and share both successes and frustrations, and get support and encouragement from genuine people who want each other to do well.”

Networking is great. Finding your people is even better.

There’s a lot to love about a classic networking event. They’re a great way to meet new people and find new business. But do you ever get tired of the client-hunt conveyor belt and having the same surface-level chat over and over (and over and over)?

Forget counting how many cards you can hand out, or the number of followers you have on LinkedIn – and start measuring success with your real-life connections.

There’s more than one great city in England

And by ‘eck there’s some good ‘uns up North.

You don’t need a London address to have a successful business (no matter what anyone else tells you).

Celebrate being part of the business community across all the great cities in the North with no area restrictions, no category lock-outs, just a whole load of opportunities to meet and learn from each other.
