Outside of work, Chris is a committed family man, married to Rachel with whom he has three children, Maisie 22, Hattie 20 and Toby 19. All three have now effectively flown the nest (the youngest just starting at the University of York at the time of writing).

After many previous years involved in junior football coaching, followed by a recent three-year break, Chris has returned to a new club (Wythenshawe Amateurs FC) where he looks after one of the under 9 squads, WAFC Tigers.

In anticipation of having more leisure time on his hands, thanks to the absence of his three adult children (and despite his business commitments), Chris has recently taken up golf at long last and is taking tuition midweek, with driving practice at the weekends. It will soon be time to approach his local club, Ashton-on-Mersey, for membership, no doubt.

Chris has travelled extensively during his life and is very keen to get back to the tour of European cities which he began with his wife some years ago – that had to be postponed, like everything wise, from March 2020, of course.

Chris also enjoys theatre, cinema and nearly all sports, with a particular emphasis on football, including his long-term support for Manchester United and an undying boyhood love of Port Vale football club.
