This ‘hands-on’ workshop offers a mix of exercises, pair work and small group discussions with case examples.
Delegates will leave the course with useful resources and ways to tackle these everyday people situations and with the confidence that what they are doing is keeping them on the right side of the law and reducing any risk or cost impact for the business.
Managing performance – How do you set the goals? Understanding if its conduct or capability and when to act for improvements
Managing absence – The whys and the how for short term and long-term absence management and knowing what’s Ok in employment law too
Grievance management – From the informal ways that help you nip issues in the bud to the formalities of a grievance hearing and reaching conclusions whilst keeping on track with processes and guidelines
Taking Disciplinary action – Legal framework, investigation methods, making decisions and disciplinary sanctions
This workshop is aimed at line managers or those who have supervisory or team leader responsibilities and day-to-day management of others, in addition to those new to managing others.
